Shrouded Hate (Sincere and Conscientious Ignorance)
In today’s culture, a significant amount of racial detestation exists and the misappropriation of the word “nig***” in social media is apparent and immensely unheeded. Sincere and Conscientious Ignorance convey disbelief and comprehension the follies of society in social media. Racism is a wound that keeps being inflated that needs to be treated. As people tweet the racial slur, “nig***”, on Twitter, the automated solenoid valve will administer droplets of blood on the fabric that is made of cotton as it slowly flows down a plinth. The combination of blood and the use of Twitter is a manifestation of racism in social media, a metaphor in which racism can eventually lead to bloodshed. With the amount of blood shown on the cloth, the art piece gives the impression that living in a post-racial society is a myth.
